Hey, this is a short shoutout for the forum system tokenBB.
Forum system ? Wasn't that already done by chainBB ?
Well here's a quote from thecryptodrive regarding the history of the project :
"Jesta created ChainBB correct, but then was abandoned, sometime later cryptoctopus tried to resurrect it under the TokenBB brand but was unable to do so with the resources he had, he then met reggaemuffin at Steemfest last year and entered into discussions regarding BuildTeam taking it over and helping complete the project and get it launched, which we did. I note the codebase is not the same, neither is the data flow, on chainbb you could post on chain with a tag and it would appear on the forum, with TokenBB you have to post with the forum interface which then posts to chain. Another key difference is that chainbb AFAIK was one forum where communities can have subforums, TokenBB takes it a step further and gives users their own forums, themes and custom domains. With the advent of Steem Engine and later SMT's TokenBB also allows forums to distribute their own tokens, which I don't think ChainBB did."
So there is quite a lot of differences, let me walk you through a few features to show you why tokenBB is a great app :
This is something that a ton of dapps struggle so much with, and they nailed it, guest accounts are very important if you want to get outsiders to join steem.
But it's been far too long and we needed smts like yesterday, luckily
@yabapmatt and
@aggroed built SCOT, it's a layer 2 centralized token system built on steem sure, but it's a token system and it can evolve into a p2p solution which would solve it's biggest problem right now.
And buildteam did a great job at integrating them so you can have your app, have your tokens and your forum using your tokens. See the whole picture ?
Speaking of "your forum"
This is where tokenBB shines compared to chainBB, it's not a single forum, it's a lot of forum, with their own custom designs and rules, reminds you of something ?
When you think of it this is exacty what reddit and the subreddit do. And they are one of the biggest websites in the world. Imagine if steem had such an outreach.
This app has quite a lot of potential and I encourage you to try it out. There's already quite a few forums that you can check out :
