When I started my relationship I was so romantically excited that it was so annoying. But soon I realized that a relationship is more of a hard work than just kissy-kissy. Don't get me wrong - it's not that I don't love my partner, however in order to have him I needed to drop a lot of tiny things that had made me happy ( it's only now that I realize it!)

To start with, I had to learn to share my space with him. He literally occupied the sofa that used to be MY comfort zone. Then we bought a new one - a corner sofa. Now it's a bit fairer although his half is slightly longer tahn mine.  Next, I had to learn to "mmm" some of the meals he cooks (honey, the vegetable dish you think is healthy is soaked in oil and no, excessive olive oil is not healthy Omega 3 supply!). I also had to learn to put up with the fact that he does love his car (I used to think it was just un urban myth) and today he got really sad as according to him it (or rather SHE) is losing it's color due to aging. It was heart-breaking! Poor car!

But there is more - I had to  get used to the fact that he also goes to the loo and it is better to stay away from it for at least half an hour afterwards. I also needed to accept some of his interior design ideas like having a stool (!!!) next to the front door that does not match the style of the rest of the furniture just because it's easier for him to sit and put on his shoes.  And what's more I needed to change my shopping list routine and now I have to include things like beer, razors and kilos of meat. I can list a million of other things I had to change in order to let this guy in my life....

But it was so worth it as I won a bunch of love and friendship! <3
