Is unauthorized firing common? I'm trying to imagine walking along and seeing people with guns at the ready rushing to and from on a weekly basis.

I realize it's naive and perhaps privileged to be "anti". Just now, I was watching something on Polish guerilla (or perhaps ordinary men, who knows) ready to defend their country against illegal migrants - something I found heartening and necessary. Or perhaps wishing we lived in a different world. Who knows.
