I can't help it, but I love to think like this. I like to daydream.
You can probably earn more curation rewards than me, and some of you might be able to calculate a more accurate amount of curation rewards as well, but I will go with 200 HP per week. One 100% upvote is worth $2.41.
This is based on my estimated curation rewards from last week, which was a total of 1.862 Hive Power. I have 1000 HP.
So, my 1000 HP gives me a total amount of 2 HP curation rewards in 1 week.
2x100 = 200
1000x100 = 100000
What Would YOU Do With 100K HP?
(Curation rewards of 200 HP per week.)
Let's be honest. I would definitely continue in more or less the exact same way as I do today, but I would probably focus more on newcomers. I would try to welcome them, support them and reward them in an attempt to boost their motivation. I think that is extremely important during the early days for people. I truly believe that rewards are what plays the biggest role when people decides to stay or leave, and I do think it's important to grow our user base.
- We need a strong, solid foundation.
If we look at ourselves, or what we could get out of this whole shebang, I would actually cash out most of- if not all of the curation rewards for several months to buy a new computer setup. My dream setup right now goes for about $3000-$4000, so I would need somewhere between 8000 and 11K Hive at the current price.
The 200 HP per week is worth ~$72, so it would take me about 50 weeks or so, if I were to do this with curation rewards alone... However, it is fairly easy to understand that I would most likely increase my author rewards as well, just for being a rather wealthy account on Hive... (And I'm not even taking potential self-votes into consideration.)
So I wouldn't be surprised if I had my new gaming setup within a few weeks if I had 100K HP. I could obviously just power down and buy this in 2 weeks, but this is not about powering down. That is the only rule. You cannot power down.
