Hello to all the Hive gardeners and community members. Greetings and happy gardening! We were hoping for rain to nourish our garden, but unfortunately, it has been very dry. Despite this, we have noticed that a few drops of rain have caused the grass to grow, and some plants, such as calendula, lambs quarters, poppy, wild strawberries, raspberry bushes, and evergreen red currant, have thrived without needing much water. Our sweet peas are growing and flowering, and we have also discovered some volunteer potatoes from last year. Unfortunately, the pumpkins, green beans, and squash didn't make it, and the tomato plants are still small, but we're hoping for fruits in September. Some herbs like chives, mint, thyme, and marjoram are doing well. our kale and arugula disappeared from last year even though we tried sowing seeds repeatedly. Despite the challenges, we harvested red currants yesterday. We have some jars of jam and jelly from last year. This year, we're trying to dry the berries to preserve them. But the sky became cloudy and I had to make the crushed red currants for use as fast as possible. I started writing this post and the rain started it was real rain. And I thought it better to take a few photos after the rain.
Here is what our garden looks like.
Harvesting plenty of red currants.
Just forming raspberries.
Not so much sweet peas this year.
Marjoram took over arugula/Rocket Place.
Got some corn plants have no place to put it may be giving them away.
Thyme from last year. time to time pick it for dinner making.
Soon the garden will be full of calendula. Everywhere only calendula is taking over.
This year also we will get some apple sure about that.
I don't know about tomatoes. still, they are very small.
Everyday hand full wild strawberries makes our breakfast superb.
This is all for this time.
Thank you very much.
