I've been practicing doing polygel for my own nails since March last year and I just keep on improving and learning new techniques since I enjoy the process a lot lol. The polygels that I've used before were okay, just not quite sticky but quite soft as well so they were kinda hard to sculpt and you have to rush to put it under the UV lamp fast so it doesn't run and potentially destroy the design that you did.
During my burnout-break, I also did some nails and saw this polygel brand on Shopee and it had great reviews so I decided to order some just to try them since I feel like it would be better and be more manageable if I had better gels.
I was not wrong.
This shop on Shopee sells some nail stuff like base gels, cleaners, polygels, etc. I ordered these along with the polygels.
I have these color gels that are quite transparent so I could experiment with different looks. It can mainly do some pretty, natural looking nails (unlike those colors with very rich opacity). I will use them soon and am actually excited to do so lol.
Back to the main topic, here are the new polygels that has different colors and one with a clear type. It says in the package "acrylic gel" but I think it meant polygel anyway.
I'm using the naked brown 013 here which looked really good with my skin tone. I still find it quite hard to do it on my own since it's really just hard to do it with one hand haha but this gel made the experience way easier than before! They are not so sticky, quite hard actually but it levels so easy as well! That wasn't much of a struggle compared before, although I still struggle doing it using my non-dominant hand lol.
Adding little shine (top coat) to it, it makes it so pretty! I was gonna do some designs/nail art but decided not to yet since I have to try how the polygels work first. They turn out really great!
There's so many things I need to learn first - like how to do it more conveniently while also being able to do the sides properly. If you can notice, the sides weren't perfect. It's important to do it properly because it can get easily ehrm, cut (or tear?) when doing chores.
I'm also really impressed with this brand cos even tho I didn't make them quite thick on the apex, they still lasted longer than expected. They didn't even peel off easily which is quite surprising for a brand that doesn't cost much.
Anyway, I'm happy seeing the progress. Looking back on my first try doing my own nails, the difference really is big. I'm enjoying the process more and more. :D
