Mo and I were supposed to go back downtown this evening after we were unable to enjoy the lights last night, but it's raining. She decided to teach me how to make her favorite turkey glaze instead. I paid close attention to everything, so I can share the ingredients with you.
The Stuff
1 bag whole cranberries
3 Tbsp butter
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup apple cider
3/4 cup cranberry juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Put all ingredients in a medium-sized saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until cranberries burst. Mo says that the electric stove makes this happen faster than gas stoves. Once the coil gets hot, it never really cools down
Use a strainer to separate the cranberries from the glaze
and voila. You have cranberry maple turkey glaze for Thanksgiving.
I am secretly glad that we didn't go out in the rain. I had a lot more fun cooking with Mo. We will be cooking more tomorrow when she gets home from work, so make sure you stop by to see what we've made!
See you next time!
