I bet many of us have spoken to our Father in recent times or even within the past 4 hours and for those that havent talked to theirs, i bet they still long to do so. Not to ignore this very important personality in our lives, society and the world at large, we need to know what they are called in french. that brings us today's word Père = Father.
In french the mainly recognised word and acceptable term for father is Père and it varies a bit based on levels of formality an some other natural factors but in all it still means Father = Père
Père: The formal and standard term for "father". Widely acceptable and sounds very respectful
Examples: Mon père = (My father).
Papa = The informal and affectionate term, equivalent to "dad" or "daddy". Here we tend to sound kinnda informal and very acquainted.
Note: While children use "papa" to address their fathers, adults often switch to "mon père" when speaking about them to others to avoid sounding childish and personally? i love "mon père" thats my no1 pick amongst all the ways to say DAD.

OUR FATHER = NOTRE PERE
MY FATHER = MON PERE (mon because masculine. remember last lesson my mother = ma mere)
