Today im gonna talk about an expression thats very useful and that sounds very natural and indigenous, native French speakers would lean their ears towards your speech when you use it.
This amazing expression works well when we are tired or especially when we want to express frustration. J’en ai marre means “I’m fed up”, “I’ve had enough”, or simply “I’m tired of this”depending on the situation or context.
You might say “J’en ai marre de travailler” meaning “I’m fed up with working”, or “J’en ai marre d’attendre” meaning “I’m tired of waiting” its a reflective expression thst is very diverse and can be used across many contexts and It is much more expressive than simply saying that you don’t like something.
Life is full of different people with different choices and tastes so most time we ought to clash Thats why we should learn this lesson expression for balance.
You always see ai inbetween the j’en and the rest of the expression or the other part because this expression talks about having feeling or emotional attachment which seriously or heavily involves the verb to have and in French Is ai os the conjugation of the verb avoir which means to have , so when I wanna say I have I say= je + ai(personal tone) = j’ai now you can add marre de travaille which means tired of work , de means of which shows possessiveness.
It is also important to understand that this is informal French, so it fits better in conversations with friends and people you are comfortable with rather than very formal situations.
