My love language is quality time, so making memories is my priority rather than giving gifts, even during holidays or special occasions.
This is applicable even to my nephew and niece. I rarely give them gifts when I am supposedly expected to give one, like during Christmas or birthdays. I don't know. I feel like they will end up not appreciating a material thing that much during that time, as they would surely receive tons from other people.
Instead, I surprise them with simple gifts on random days or make/do something with them. One of which is making a dream board.
Of course, they didn't know what a dream board is, so we did it one step at a time.
Step 1: I explained to them what a dream board is or what they could include in it.
Step 2: We listed down the things that they want to include in their own dream board (things they want to have, food they want to eat, places they want to visit, things they want to do or try, etc)
Step 3: We looked up for the photos to represent their dreams, and I let them choose the one they like.
Step 4: Making the vision board a.k.a sticking the pictures and adding some designs.
And that's it!
I really enjoyed doing this with them, especially the part where we listed down their dreams. As expected, they are so pure and very child-like dreams! I do hope majority of the things in their list will come true!
Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happiness.
