Undoubtedly, having a pet is one of the most wonderful things in the world, they fill your life with happiness, new experiences, movement, love and lots of fun, besides teaching you the sense of commitment. But not everything is always roses, because despite being beautiful furry beings with pure hearts, they also represent a great degree of responsibility that not everyone is willing to assume 100%.

As I have mentioned in previous occasions, I have a beautiful 7 year old dog named Hope who is a fundamental part of my life. When I was 15 years old I managed to convince my parents to adopt her, with the promise that I would take full responsibility for her, as I was just a teenager who dreamed of having a close bond with a pet, and being totally honest, I didn't know what I was really getting myself into back then, as I wasn't aware that I was acquiring a big long term commitment. Although, at the beginning my parents paid for everything related to Hope's basic care since I was only 15 years old, but I still had to take care of her hygiene, constant attention and education, which made me spend hours on it.

As time went by, when I was 18 years old, I began to receive my first income, and from then on my parents began to disengage even more from Hope's responsibilities, as I began to pay for her food and grooming, which left me little money for my personal implements, but I could not make any complaint because I fully recognized that Hope's existence in our lives was due to my desire to have a pet.

I always saw Hope as a daughter, I had to take her for a walk 5 times a day, be aware of her feeding, take into account all the care so that she would not have ticks, in addition to educate her so that her behavior would be exceptional at home. One of Hope's characteristics is that she is a mixed breed, and has genes that make her not very friendly and social with strangers, especially children, which leads me to be much more attentive at all times with her and visitors, and makes it difficult to leave her in veterinarians, dog groomers and pet boarding centers.

The fact that my dog's personality is like this, has limited a little the visits of friends to our home, especially if they have small children, since I must apply the greatest preventive measures to avoid an accident, and does not allow me to fully enjoy the visit, but these are consequences that I must assume with maturity since I am the main responsible for Hope. It also does not allow us to leave her in the care of anyone because she does not like the proximity of strangers, which limits our options.

Today I am 22 years old, I have a better income and it allows me to allocate part of my money in a more relaxed way to the care of my Hope, but it is still a considerable amount in spite of it. Today my dog is 7 years old, and many may think "but the hardest part is over, what's the problem?

Well, because I didn't have such an active social life before, I didn't notice the disadvantages in terms of the time investment I had to make for Hope. Today I have a stable love relationship and work responsibilities, which make me have to spend hours and even days away from home and that has brought me problems with my parents, because they have their own personal lives and do not want to worry about more responsibilities. This has prevented me from going on trips alone with my boyfriend and friends, sleeping at my boyfriend's house in a quiet way, going out to work all day without worries, since I have to be at home as much as possible to take care of my dog's needs, as I receive little support from my family.
This situation that I am currently living makes me reflect and realize the great responsibility that I was acquiring at the age of 15, which has affected me a little at my current age of 22, because I understand that you should not make hasty decisions without analyzing the different perspectives, plus a puppy is not something that should be taken lightly, because they are living beings that have emotions, require attention, love and care .... Basically like a baby. Even so I never tire of repeating that I do not regret that Hope come into our lives, their existence and company is totally worth the effort and sacrifice that we dedicate for it, even so I advise all people who wish to acquire the responsibility of adding a pet to your life to analyze the advantages and disadvantages to make the best decision ❤️

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and get this far ✨ great greetings to all and see you in a next Post❤️
