I just heard about the #wednesdaywalk challenge, and given that today is the official First Day of Spring, what better way to celebrate all the new life springing up on my property!
My daffodils have wasted no time at all, I see! With the recent (and sudden) 40* to 50* weather we’ve had, the snow has been melting rapidly. And the snowdrops (pictured first) have truly earned their name this year.
Our old english walnut tree had to come down earlier in the week. Most of it was dead last year, and so we have slowly been cutting some of it up for firewood. We sold some of the better sections to a guy who will mill it for coffee tables and other furniture. It makes me happy, knowing it will have new life in beautiful home accessories. My husband saved a few nice sections to dry and cure for later wood-lathe projects.
I also took this opportunity to do some sketching. These little sketches are fountain pen and watercolor brush pen. I am happy my fountain pen is back to functioning again. The nib had an accident at the hands of my youngest child, and I wasn’t sure I could fix it.... but I tried my hand at readjusting the nib and it appears to have worked. 💕
