A new Steem based decentralized social media for the creators to create, commune, and earn.

We are really excited to officially announce the HapRamp project for the first time on Steemit. We had a chance to discuss the idea with David and Donovan from steemit team and they asked us to share the idea and our work with the Steem community. So, here we are.

When we first heard of the Steemit.com, the ideology, and the platform, it caught our attention. Then we spent a lot of time reading the Steem white paper, bluepaper, understanding the technology, interacting with some of their team members over the emails and telegram group.

At the same time, we’re working on an idea for past six months and the idea was to give a platform to the creators where they can form close communities, share their work, grow together and the platform will reward them points for the likes and share (engagement) they receive. We also planned on to treat these points equivalent to real currency and allow the users to use them as a mode of payment on other HapRamp serivces such as an online store.

And then when we learned about the Steemit and the Steem Blockchain, it was like finding a jet engine that could fit in our ship. 🤗

The Idea

We’ve seen the Internet develop into this colossal network where people from all sorts of professions and domains come together to share their expertise and add value to the network. But all the contributors do not stand a fair chance to earn the value back for their contribution. The major proportion of the power and value stays locked in the hands of a few centralized players. The Steem Blockchain challenges this fundamentally by creating an incentivized and open content sharing platform where every user can earn in proportion to the value they add value.

So, we took the open-source infrastructure of Steem Blockchain to develop a new social media for the creative communities.

What is HapRamp?

HapRamp is a social media for the creative communities with User Experience and features that they need. Where creators can share photos, videos, blogs etc. and earn rewards (Steem Dollars) for their valuable contribution.

Launch Date? The HapRamp platform is currently in the private testing phase and we’ll launch the public alpha by the end of May 2018. We’ll keep you informed.

For The Creators

Our aim is to build one platform to cater the needs of people who love or are part of any of these creative fields: Art, Dance, Design, Dramatics, Fashion, Literature, Music, photography, and Travel.

These are the nine communities on HapRamp for the creators to choose from based on their interests and things they love to do. The idea is to serve relevant content in the feed and present the content that users opt-in for, it’s the first step towards giving the users control over their feed. We’ll add more features as we move forward based on the community suggestions and needs.

HapFolks: Our Community Support Project

HapFolks is our upcoming project to help the hyperlocal artist’s communities and meetups/event organizers in with tech support. The idea is to bestow enough resources that every artist could create content and gets a channel to monetize their hard work and talent. We’ll announce more on this later!

Steem Projects From India

HapRamp is the first Steem based platform from India. We would be happy to meet new Steem project developers from our country if there are any around us. We look forward to work towards building an ecosystem of developers who want to build and support the open-source Steem projects.

The Vision

Our vision is to empower the artists and the creators. They add enormous value to the Internet platforms and in our lives too. We believe that these decentralized platforms and the support from the early adopters and visionaries will play a pivotal role in building truly democratic, fair, and rewarding networks.

Today, in the ways we learn new things, create value, and share value with the world has completely changed. The online communities are now at the center of this process, and closely knit communities with right resources and incentives are the best thing that we can create.

We’ll add specific features and build exclusive tools for all the communities in the near future to help them share their work in better ways on the platforms. It’s time we should take control of our data and the value that we create and share for free!
