Today for #wednesdaywalk, I want to write about a new indoor place I explored with the son last school holidays.
The Library!
In the area I stay and its surrounding, I think there are 3 public libraries. Staying in Kuala Lumpur for nearly 20 years, I have only been to 2. This is my first time bringing my son to the one nearest to us, though there is another library right next to his school.
After his Chinese class, I decided let me try to bring him out for some exclusive time. He has been very understanding to give in to his brother who always "Mummy, Mummy" me but I figured maybe I should spend some time with him away from his baby brother.
We went to this library called Pustaka Kuala Lumpur @ Setiawangsa at this address:
1, Jalan Wangsa Delima 13, Wangsa Maju, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur
Opening hours: 10am to 645pm, Closed on Mondays
It was hard to find parking here so I parked at the open parking at the mall beside it. I almost thought the library is not open because it looks extremely discrete and hidden.
Finally, I got to know I have to enter through a place where I used to pay my fines to the local municipal to take lift up.
We went firstly to the Interactive zone floor, only to find it closed.
So we went to a floor lower to the Kids Zone. Thankfully it was open.
The whole library was very well kept and maintained with very new books. Well maybe not many people go to the library to read books though I do know my friend's children frequent quite a bit.
They have quite a huge range to cater for many interests. Besides that, there is also computer areas and toys.
My son went to draw his Among us using the computer's paint. I think he did a good job.
There was a huge stage that looks very nice for activities.
Then he picked some books and we went to this separated individual corners for reading.
He liked this world map right on top of us that he kept looking at it too.
Some of the things we read that I find very interesting and educational.
While we were reading, suddenly thwir staff came by with a gift for my son, mentioning that thwy were giving out gifts to the visitors and there was leftovers.
There are some ways we can contribute to the books collection here too by dropping and sharing.
Before we left, he took some photos here with the place.
He opened up the gift after we left the place after an hour plus. It was a box of good stationeries! Lucky him!
Then we walked up to a fast food that we both like. Taco Bell! Having not come here for the longest time, I suddenly find it very expensive though it tastes really good.
