Greetings everyone - Hannah here, and I just want to say if you’re here reading this right now, a major thank you! As stated in my video above, I’ve been wanting to get involved in the Steemit community for a while now but just lacked the confidence and motivation to do so.
I first got a glimpse of the beauty that this world has to offer when I traveled to Africa for a medical brigade trip with my university, and since then I haven’t been able to stop traveling. As I continue to travel, I develop a growing curiosity along with a growing heart. Anyways, it wasn’t until my most recent travels, a solo backpacking trip across SE Asia, that I really discovered not only the world’s beauty, but also the beauty that lies harnessed within.
At the risk of sounding cliche, I’ve come to realize that no matter what situation you find yourself in - life is still beautiful. How you perceive the outer world is a reflection of your inner world. As I travel to these developing countries I continue to stumble across some of the happiest and most generous people. In terms of material riches, they can be considered ‘poor’ - but in terms of LOVE, they are rich beyond belief. Seeing the love they spread amongst their family, their community, and most importantly themselves has taught me to start loving myself as well.
So anyways, that’s what brings me here. I’ve always wanted to share my experiences/thoughts and start blogging, but I’ve also been too nervous to do so - thinking I wasn’t a good enough writer or that no one would want to read what I write. But even if that were the case, who cares. I’m putting myself outside of my comfort zone, and it feels liberating!
