Summer has arrived in the Carolinas, the Land of the long leaf pines. Time to "Go Fetch" a nice cold brew from my summer stash. And I have an odd pick today for a summer time beer.
Today I want to share with you Endless Measure brewed by the Wiseman Brewery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
And why is this beer an odd pick?
It is an Oktoberfest Lager!
What the heck is an Oktoberfest Lager?
In America Oktoberfest Lagers harken back to the darker beers brewed in Munich. Munich is located in Bavaria. The can itself is a tip of the hat to the great brewing tradition of Bavaria.

Notice the colors of the can and the diamonds on the letters.
Check out the other side of the can, which also incorporates all the colors of the Bavarian flag.
I think the Wiseman Brewery has some of the best can art in the craft brewing world.
Lets see how Wiseman describes this particular beer.

So what are we looking for in this beer? According to Wiseman the beer should have an "initial bready note" and a hint of sweetness that is matched with a "light toasty finish" and a malt character.
Alright then lets head off to my personal beer garden for the pour and the drink.
Before we get to the pour, I like share with you any new visitors in the garden. And this week we got a new flower.
I don't know the actual name of this flower but I just call them "firecrackers", for I hope obvious reasons. Ok lets get to the pour.
Pours with an small head and light carbonation. The color is caramel which bodes well for a smooth malty taste.
Endless Measure Oktoberfest lager is medium body and goes down smooth. The aroma is actually "bread" like and the malt comes through and lingers on the pallet.
What a great brew! And what a great way to kick off the Summer with a little reminder of last Fall.
Prost!
Have a great #beersaturday!
peace out.
