I am having difficulty clearly focusing on events that happened in 2020 it is as if it was the Year That Wasn't. Its not that I can't remember those thing that happened its just that they seemed to occur, at least in my mind in 2019 or 2021.
I do recall in January of the Year that wasn't hearing rumors of a terrible plague that had broken out in a place called WUHAN in China.
Being a long time prepper, and I say that with no reservation or shame, I simply went through my normal check list food, water, fuel and bullets. Check, check, check and check.
Who would have ever believed that the greatest investment in the Year that wasn't would be HAND SANITIZER.
I am still kicking myself for not fully contemplating the path that the Year that wasn't would take.
I am writing this post just to remind myself of the things that happened in the Year that wasn't.
I do remember that my daughter got married in the Year that wasn't. She had a simple ceremony down at the Courthouse. And afterwards, I hosted the immediate family in a private room at a wonderful restaurant.
The very next week the Governor of North Carolina shuttered the entire State to stop the spread of the pandemic in the Year that Wasn't.
It still makes me chuckle just a bit because my daughter always had that kind of luck. It just figures that HER DAY would not be postponed though very shortly all of our lives would be postponed in the Year That Wasn't.
My life took turn and for an older man change is never easy. You think your life and your world is one way and then it is not.
Most of our lives in the West have forever changed and there ain't no going back. Some lives changed very little for whom the Year That Wasn't was more of an inconvenience and yet for others all that they knew had been cast to the wind. Some folks never missed a paycheck and yet for others they haven't seen one since.
Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you are having the same sort of issues or perhaps other things that clearly happened in the Year That Wasn't and yet to memory is difficult to recall or place properly.
