So this morning i remembered my childhood and while thinking about my childhood I remembered alot of things which includes how I was ashamed to tell my friends about the profession of my late dad back then , my late dad used to be a mechanic several years ago, while we were growing up he worked as a mechanic and that was what he used to put food on the table and he used it to take good care of us..

But as a kid I used to feel ashamed to tell my friends that my dad is a mechanic, I still wonder why I was ashamed during that time to let them know my dad was a mechanic, I do not know maybe it was because during that time many people saw it as a dirty low paying job in our environment during that time or maybe its just because I was a kid and kids will always be kids...

Whenever my friends ask me, what does your daddy do , I will respond and say he is a pilot , maybe pilot have started fixing cars...lol...as kids that they were too they tend to believe me.

Now I do not know the exact reason why I was not bold enough to tell them the truth about what my dad does for a living but whenever I remember those times I noticed that probably the reason why I acted that way was because I was scared of getting judged by the profession of my dad or that my dad might be mocked for his profession during that time because many of the kids back then in the neighbourhood tend to see mechanics as poor people doing dirty job and earning less so maybe i was scared that I might get mocked..

This brings me back to life, many people do not appreciate the importance of labour, many are not proud of what they do because they believe that it is a dirty job and the earnings is less compared to the stress of the work and because of that we tend to ignore the fact that we might enjoy doing the job and we might be passionate about it because it gives us some kind of happiness which we desire but because we are so bothered about what the society thinks, we then begin to allow their opinions to get into our head and we begin to lose interest in that same job we had passion for before then we allow ourselves to get distracted...

Several years later I now realized that I should have being proud to make.my friends know that my dad was a mechanic and there is figntiy in it because he had passion for it nad he used it to createna better life for himself and all of us in the family..

He was a very hardworking man who was passionate about his job and he cares alot about his family .

He was never ashamed to make the world know that he was a mechanic so why should I be ashamed to tell the world that my dad is a mechanic? THERE IS STILL DIGNITY IN LABOUR..

If you are reading this , I do not know what you do for a living or how dirty the job looks to some other people in the society, as long as your job is legal and you are not hurting anyone then keep doing the job , as long as you are passionate about it and you are proud of yourself then continue to do it...

Be proud of yourself and your job..
