This morning a young Indian customer of ours who occasionally comes here with his wife for biryani, came into the restaurant and told me that I was employed in a store during the Christmas season. Now business has slowed down so they have fired me. Now in this extreme winter, I and my wife have no winter clothes. Lend me some money. I said go get the wife. The poor person was very worried that what the Qazi Sahib has to do with my wife? I told him again, he left and someone came with his wife in half an hour. I took his wife and him to the kitchen and asked the chef of Clay Handi to make 400 samosas for them. From 11 am to 3 pm, they fried samosas and arranged them in aluminum trays. I called an Indian acquaintance and a Kashmiri grocery store owner. When I told them the situation, they both said to send it. Both are back at 10 pm now. Except for a few broken samosas at 2 stores, all the samosas have been sold. The envelopes were given to them by the shopkeepers, tamarind and mint chutney was given by me. At $2 per samosa, he has earned around $760 today. My food cost was $30, the samosa dough sheet and the inside masala were made by the chef. Now after eating Biryani, let them leave the house and I am thanking Allah for giving me the opportunity - Don't give me fish - give me fishing equipment - let them catch fish themselves.
This is the Sunnah of our Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he ordered a person seeking help to bring a bowl and a mat from his house and he himself stood in the Prophet's Mosque and bid for these two items and made a rope and an ax from the money he received. He ordered them to cut wood from the forest and provide support for himself and his family. As the ummah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), following him and following his Sunnah can give us a prominent position in the religion and the world.
