With blood shot eyes spitting determination, he half screamed his reply...
Because i want to prove them wrong!!
Flashes in bit:
(Jake was an unhappy child whilst growing up, he was always shoved to the back because of his not so impressive looks, he was unable to access his genius mind early, because each time he tried, his pair would mock, laugh and talk him down.
He coiled into his shell, never spoke in public but he studied harder and his grades spoke all that needed to be said.
But i noticed something in Jake , he'd never want to do a thing until someone told him he couldn't, once that is said he'll push himself so hard and its a miracle he's never broke.
But i knew things about Jake that he didn't realise about himself, maybe he was too blinded with his revenge with success plan, he was suffering, i knew i had to help him).
So i whispered a silent prayer before i spoke again.
Mary: and then what
Jake: i don't get you...
Mary: yeah, i mean after proving them wrong what next?
(Jake looked lost and confused for the first time)
Mary: when are you going to start living for yourself?
Jake: scoffs.... What are you talking about now?
I live my life for me!
Mary: are you now?
Think about it for as long as you can remember, every achievement, every milestone, every height you've attained, you can't take credit for it.
Because every one time, you've never been behind your motivation. You've always allowed people be your driving force, seeking out who to prove wrong, seeking for validation from people with your achievements.
Jake: you don't know how hard it is, or how difficult it was growing up how i did, no one ever wanted to have anything to do with me, I've never had a friend, never! Until now with my success of cause, people hang around me by default. That's a hard way to live Mary!
Mary: true, i may not know how you had it, but i know you'll end up with more and may hate yourself, if you don't stop now!
*Stop hating yourself for being different, its not your fault, you may not be the finest guy on the block but you are someone to reckon with.
*forgive everyone that's ever hurt you, really let go
Jake: what! Why?
Mary: because growing I've realised that silence, calculated and deliberate silence is more loud than a talking drum.
Your mother/father, relatives, siblings, friends, teacher, mentors etc who wronged you and the ones that ridiculed you. NONE of them are worth being the reason or motivation behind your success.
You can't keep tying your successes to people who wronged you, you don't no one proves as much as you owe yourself validation for you hard work.
What you're doing is indeliberate slavery, you gotta release yourself, live for you and you alone.
Look back ten years time with smile at your accomplishments born from a place of self love and worth.
Because later you'd realise that no one really cares, the only one that truly matters in your world is YOU.

Govern your world
Rule your happiness and most importantly
Lead your ambitions.

Jake: wow Mary, am shocked, don't really know what to say, I've never had anyone talk this deeply to me before.
But you're right, may not be easy but i better start now.
