Hello beautiful people!
How are you doing today? I want to take you on my stroll around an 17th century watchtower of the well known Napoleon Bonaparte!
The original building, which date's from the 18th century, was destroyed during the Spanish war of independence and they rebuild it in 1817! The main objective of this fort was the protection of the coast of Guardias Viejas!
There was an artillery garrison stationed in the fort! they were assigned to patrols the coastal area from Punta del Sabinar in the eats to Balanegra in the west!
As you can see, it looks like it's a brand new building! It was completely restored in the year 1980 and in 1985 it was declared as a building of high cultural interest, and is protected since than!
This is a model of the building, seen from the seaside! I didn't took my drone with me on this trip so I don't have nice areal footage! I will be back here so I will take areal footage then!
The fort is a teaching museum with a permanent exhibition of clothes and weapons from the Napoleonic era!
This is the gun room! All these guns and rifles were used by the soldiers who stood and fought here!
There wasn't a very good view! It was build high up for the protection of the soldiers! Maybe I am sending them an email and ask if they could build a stage so we could look over the wall!
I saw these pretty flowers growing in the field around the whole castle! it's wintertime so there isn't much growing around now! And it's very dry in this area! Not much rain has fallen here in the past 3 years!
And this is the route to the castle! it's in the middle of thousands and thousands of greenhouse that are build in that whole area!
