Gerrit Rietveld was a Dutch architect and furniture designer. He also made graphic work, including posters and magazine covers, including one for the community in 1925. He is best known as a member of "The Stijl" and as a pioneer of the new building movement in the Netherlands.
I don't know much about architecture but I think his Rietveld Schröder house, that he designed together with his wife, is a very famous building. At least famous in the Netherlands.

His chairs are also very famous and now a day's if you could buy one, it is costing you a lot of money.
This design is a "boldekar" that is based on a old children cart that he played with on the streets when he was a little boy. I also had a "boldekar" when I was a little boy..
In this museum there are more objects from Rietveld. The museum organised a contest and invited artists to make an object that is based on a chair of Rietveld himself.
These exhibits are in the central museum in the city of Utrecht. So if you are around there and you like architecture and design, go have a look.
