Pulp Fiction is a film that blends crime, black comedy, drama, and violence, but what impressed me most was the unusual way Quentin Tarantino constructs his story. When I started watching the film, I immediately realized that this wasn’t a classic crime story that you follow from beginning to end. Instead, the film presents different stories involving gangsters, hitmen, a boxer, and two small-time robbers, whose fates eventually intertwine. What makes it particularly interesting is that every time I thought I understood what was happening, the film took me in a different direction.

Their conversations lend even the most dangerous moments a touch of dark comedy, and that’s precisely one of the aspects I enjoyed most about the film.

Jules begins to reflect on an event he considers a miracle, and it gradually takes on greater importance in the way he views his own life. Watching this part, I felt that Jules was no longer exactly the man he seemed to be at the beginning something was beginning to change within him.

To me, this part perfectly illustrates how the film constantly plays with the viewer’s expectations.

Little by little, I realized that all these characters belong to the same world and that their stories are much more interconnected than I had thought.

This makes them much more human and complex than simple characters defined by a single trait.

As I kept watching the movie, I really came to understand why the title Pulp Fiction fits it so well. The story has a structure reminiscent of the crime stories you might find in pulp fiction magazines, but Tarantino adds his own style: nonlinear storytelling, long dialogues, dark comedy, unexpected violence, and extremely well-developed characters.
