That afternoon felt different. Not because of the cool breeze or the changing sky, but because of the laughter that filled the yard. Children gathered, small rackets in their hands, playing badminton enthusiastically even though the court was only a simple yard.

Amidst the unfinished buildings and the sturdy, brightly colored houses, life felt so real. There were no gadgets, no screens, just togetherness and laughter flowing freely. Every shot of the shuttlecock that sailed through the air was greeted with a small cheer, sometimes accompanied by laughter when it failed to catch.

The game was simple, perhaps even far from perfect. But therein lay its beauty. They didn't care about rigid rules or correct technique. What mattered was the joy of playing together, chasing each other, and enjoying the carefree time.

In another corner, several children simply sat, watching, occasionally joining in with laughter. Their presence became part of the afternoon's story. Everything felt warm, like an extended family gathered together unplanned.

An afternoon like this reminded us that happiness doesn't always have to be expensive or complicated. With just a small space, friends, and a few games, the day can feel so meaningful.

As the sun slowly sets, the games may end. But the memories of that afternoon will remain, becoming simple stories that will one day be missed.
