The morning began with a calming atmosphere. The aroma of hot coffee greeted the day, a constant companion to energize me before starting work. Each sip of coffee was delicious, especially when the morning air was still fresh and the dew hadn't yet completely dried on the leaves. Afterward, I began sewing caps for worship a task that had become a routine and a source of daily income. Each stitch had its own value, and there was a sense of satisfaction in seeing the finished work neat and ready to be worn for worship.
As noon approached, I slowly stopped sewing to take a break and prepare to head to the rice fields. The afternoon weather was pleasant, with the sky slightly cloudy and a gentle breeze blowing, creating a calm atmosphere in the rice fields. I brought a mixture of NPK and urea fertilizer that I had mixed since morning. I carefully sprinkled it between the rows of rice plants, ensuring each clump received sufficient nutrients to thrive and produce healthy grains.
I also replanted some previously dead rice stalks, replacing them with new seedlings to keep the field full and productive. The process did require patience, but seeing the rice fields grow evenly was satisfying. That afternoon, I ended the day with gratitude, because every drop of sweat and effort in the fields was part of the struggle towards a good harvest.
Living in the village teaches me many things about perseverance, the balance between manual labor and the heart, and gratitude for each productive day.
