This is going to be twice the reason. Update on my Bonsai growth and some Light Painting.
Just before the Corona shit Show started, I got interested in growing my own Bonsais. During the Corona lockdown, I started reading more about it and grew a few. Not every attempt was successful. Just this spring my Japanese maple and my German Reed Beech (sometimes called Copper Beech) came back with new branches and leaves. The Red Beach was collected around the Block where the mother tree is actually a nature monument because it's sooo big. Since these came back so beautifully I had to take some Photos. Here for you of course as Light Painting.
Kurz vor der Corona-Shit-Show, begann ich, mich für Bonsais zu interessieren. Während des Corona-Lockdowns habe ich dann tatsächlich angefangen, mehr darüber zu lesen und habe mich an zwei drein versucht. Nicht jeder Versuch war erfolgreich, aber in diesem Frühjahr trieben mein japanischer Ahorn und meine deutsche Rotbuche (manchmal auch Kupferbuche genannt) aus. Die Rotbuche habe habe ich von um die Ecke. Da steht eine riesen Rotbuche und da habe ich einen kleinen Ableger gefunden. Nach dem die so schön wieder gekommen sind musste ich ein paar Fotos machen. Hier für Sie natürlich auch als Light Painting.
This tree has been shaped with wires this year for the first time. I am not sure where this will go and I am still practicing as you see. I am by no means a professional or call myself experienced. We need to be patient and I guess we got time.
Dieser Baum habe ich dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal mit Draht geformt. Ich bin nicht sicher, wie er in 10 Jahre aussieht aber ich übe ja immer noch. Ich bin kein Profi und bezeichne mich auch nicht als erfahren. Bleiben wir mal geduldig und ich denke, das wird noch besser.
To get these shots the Camera was set to ISO 100 and the Sigma Macro F2.8 105mm lens to F22. The exposure times varied between a few seconds up to 74 seconds (the one with the blue).
It was important not to shine any light directly into the camera during the exposure and not to touch the leaves. That would cause some blure.
Um diese Aufnahmen zu machen, habe ich meine Kamera auf ISO 100 und das Sigma Macro F2,8 105 mm auf F22 eingestellt. Die Belichtungszeiten variierten zwischen einigen Sekunden bis 74 Sekunden (die mit dem Blau).
Wichtig war hier während des Einleuchtens kein Licht direkt in die Kamera so scheinen und nicht die Blätter zu berühren.
What I like about my maple is of course the colors and the shape of the leaves. With some light from above and underneath, we can really see the colors pop.
The power of light painting allows to make it really dramatic.
Was mir an meinem Ahorn gefällt, sind natürlich die Farben und die Form der Blätter. Mit etwas Licht von oben und unten können kamen Farben richtig raus.
Mit Light Painting wird's halt immer etwas dramatischer.
The Origin
I don't want this one to grow as big as the mother but hopefully as beautiful.
Ich möchte nicht, dass diese so groß wird wie Ihre Mutter, aber hoffentlich so schön.
FYI the little one is just not red yet. A few days later I do already see the leaves turning darker. So in a month from now with more sunny weather it will be nice and red.
I thought I had a better picture of the mother tree but I hope you understand what kind of tree we are talking about.

This is a European beech cultivar known as Copper beech or Fagus sylvatica Purpurea as I investigated. It exhibits red or purple foliage, which adds a unique and captivating element to landscapes. During the growing season and transform into coppery hues in autumn before they are shed that's what you see in the image above.
Dies ist eine europäische Buchensorte, die nach meinen Untersuchungen als Rotbuche oder Fagus sylvatica Purpurea bekannt ist. Wenn sie genügend Sonne bekommen dann werden die Blätter schnell dunkel rot. Im Herbst verwandeln sie sich die roten in kupferfarbene Töne. Oben im Bild sieht man das super.
