There's been a huge number of fake accounts on Twitter all promoting that extreme violence is going to take place in Minneapolis or elsewhere. Some are directing to very specific targets of violence. If you follow the events on Twitter you'll quickly notice them too. They stick out like a sore thumb. They are activated and reactivated for specific 'campaigns'. Between activation, they build through K-Pop or anime themes.

All accounts are:

  • Either branded as K-Pop or anime accounts
  • All focus on the BLM hashtag primarily
  • All have 'stay safe' wording
  • Have specific violence targets or points
  • Have a history of repeating versions of the above for different 'campaigns'

The accounts have zero resemblance to any accounts or tweets of legitimate people, irrespective where they stand on what's going on.

The fake accounts are either designed to incite the current protesters or to build the account's followers to then sell its services.
