I wanted to update everyone on my two first posts. First, the tomatoes and cucumber seeds have started growing in the egg cartons. That was fast! The peppers are not up yet. Since the sprouts are growing long as they look for sun, I adding grow lights this week.
Cucumbers are growing quickly also. Weather is warming up even though it is Feb, so I hope to have things in the raised beds in the next few weeks. I have an idea on how to avoid a damaging frost that I will share soon.
Speaking of the raised beds, that's where I planted the collards and lettuce. When I went to check on those, I was happy to see that Mr. (or maybe Mrs.) Asparagus is pushing up. Asparagus is perennial and once established it is a great asset to the garden. I love to pick it and eat it raw, but I will need to wait another week.
There's not much to see yet, but the collards and lettuce have germinated. Tiny green leaves!
