Fresh paint where pencil once traced growth
The carpets whose stains told stories of life
Now ripped from the floor, into lengths with a knife.
Doors locked for the last time, goodbye feels pale
To take down the sign, which reads "for sale"
I've found this challenge interesting for a long time- it is surprisingly hard to write a coherent story in 50 words! This weekend, the prompt was "sale". If you'd like to enter, the contest is open until end of day Sunday! You can find all the info here!
