Every Playstation Plus member could try Monster Hunter World Beta on PS4 in past few days and because I am really excited about this game, it was “must-try” for me!

What is Monster Hunter:

It is an action RPG played from a third-person prespective (you can watch my gameplay video for a better idea). You take the role of a Hunter and because you are a Hunter, you hunt things and because it is an Japanese game, beasts you hunt are awesome big bosses that you gonna love. I really like the fact, that you do not have stats, but your playstyle is determided by what equipment you use. You can play solo or with four other players, but there is no local multiplayer. The game will launch on Playsation 4, Xbox One and PC.

My impressions:

Unfortunately, the beta started at the evening, when my friend did not have time to play with me, so I played solo or with random people. My first game was with random people and it went well, there were no connecting issues and we tracked the target and then we did the job done pretty quickly. However, after that I couldn’t join any other multiplayer match due to connecting issues, but thanks to that I tried solo even more. Singleplayer feels more complicated, because you don’t have any friends by your side and that is a good thing, you can feel adrenaline rush when you finally after a gruesome tracking encounter your target and he is ten times bigger than you are. Combat is well done, but it takes tome to get used to it, don’t expect hack-and-slash, it is more (I hate to say it) Dark Souls. If you watch my gameplay video, you can see, that fights are not short, thay can be pretty long.

The game is overall very complex, you can you tons of different potions and you even have to sharpen your sword after a while. And for every otaku out there, yes you can set voices to japanese. I am very excited to play the full game, but I will wait for reviews as always, because many games dissapointed me with first day connecting issues and so on…
