Hi guys how are you all? I hope you are all doing well. So guys today I am back again with a new Splinterlands monster review. It has been really interesting to explore some of the newer cards and today I have another interesting monster to talk about. The monster I am going to talk about today is Thessok Hunter.

So without wasting any time let's start the review.

First of all if we talk about some basic information Thessok Hunter is a 7 mana Common monster from the Fire element. It belongs to the Saurian Bloodline which makes it even more interesting because its abilities are not only useful on their own but can also become more valuable when you build a team around the same Bloodline.

Unlike many ordinary cards that we normally obtain from regular packs Thessok Hunter was introduced as a Land-Crafted card. This means that instead of simply getting the card from a normal card pack it can be crafted using resources through Splinterlands Land. I think this makes Thessok Hunter a little different from many other monsters because it is connected to the Land system as well as the normal battle system.

Now let's talk about its stats.

At max level Thessok Hunter has 4 melee attack 5 speed 8 health and 0 armor. Looking at these stats we can clearly see that this monster is designed more for offense than defense. Four melee attack is very good for a 7 mana monster and the 5 speed is also quite impressive.

The 8 health gives it a decent amount of survivability but the biggest weakness here is its zero armor. Because of that I would not consider Thessok Hunter a traditional tank. Instead I would prefer using it as an offensive monster that can put pressure on the enemy and take down important targets.

The combination of high melee damage and good speed is one of the main reasons why I like this card. If you can protect it with a proper tank or some support abilities then Thessok Hunter can become a very dangerous attacker.

Now let's talk about its abilities because this is where the card becomes much more interesting.

Its first ability is Apex Strike.

Apex Strike is one of the most unique things about Thessok Hunter. Instead of simply attacking the enemy according to the normal attack order this ability allows it to target the enemy with the highest Power.

This can be very useful in battles where the opponent has one particularly powerful monster that you want to deal with quickly. Sometimes an enemy team has a very strong unit that becomes the main threat of the whole lineup. In that situation Apex Strike can help Thessok Hunter focus on that important target.

So basically Thessok Hunter is not just attacking randomly. It has a special targeting mechanic that can make your attacks more useful depending on the enemy lineup.

The second ability is Piercing which it gains at Level 3.

Piercing is another very useful ability for a melee attacker. When Thessok Hunter attacks an enemy with armor its damage can break through that armor and any remaining damage can continue to the enemy's health.

This becomes even more useful when we consider its 4 melee attack at max level. Against an enemy with a decent amount of armor a normal attack may only remove the armor. But with Piercing Thessok Hunter has a better chance of actually damaging the enemy's health at the same time.

Because of this I think Thessok Hunter can be a good option in battles where armored monsters are common. It gives the card more value and makes its attacks feel much more threatening.

Now let's move to its third ability which is Ambush.

Ambush unlocks at Level 8 and this is where Thessok Hunter becomes even more aggressive.

Ambush allows the monster to take an additional turn before the normal first round of combat begins. This is a very strong offensive advantage because Thessok Hunter can potentially deal damage to an important enemy before the regular combat sequence even starts.

Imagine your opponent has a powerful monster that you really want to weaken as quickly as possible. Having an extra attack before the normal battle begins can give you a good advantage.

When you combine Ambush with Thessok Hunter's 5 speed and 4 melee attack the result can be very dangerous. It already has good offensive stats and Ambush gives it another opportunity to make an early attack.

This is one of the reasons why I would describe Thessok Hunter as an aggressive monster. It is not designed to simply stand in the frontline and absorb damage. Its main purpose is to attack and put pressure on the opponent.

Finally we have its fourth ability which is Bloodline Pact.

Bloodline Pact is unlocked at maximum level and this ability is directly connected to the Saurian Bloodline.

With Bloodline Pact allied units that share the same Bloodline can gain Power whenever one of them defeats an enemy. This means that if you are building a team around Saurian units then Thessok Hunter can become more than just a single damage dealer. It can contribute to the overall strength of the team.

However there is also an important drawback that you need to keep in mind.

Allied units can take true damage when one of the allied units is defeated. So while Bloodline Pact can make your team stronger it also comes with a risk. You need to think carefully about your lineup because losing units can have an effect on the rest of your team.

There is another major drawback as well. If Thessok Hunter itself gets defeated then the allied Saurian units take 2 damage and lose the Power they gained through Bloodline Pact.

Because of this you should not use the ability without thinking about positioning and team composition. Keeping Thessok Hunter alive can become very important when you are relying heavily on Bloodline Pact.

When I look at Thessok Hunter as a complete card I think its biggest strength is the combination of different offensive abilities. Apex Strike gives it unique targeting. Piercing helps it deal with armor. Ambush gives it an early attack and Bloodline Pact allows it to support a Saurian-based team.

At the same time we cannot ignore its weaknesses. The biggest one is definitely its zero armor. Even though it has 8 health and good speed it can still be vulnerable to strong physical attacks. This is why I would recommend pairing it with monsters that can protect it or provide useful defensive support.

I also think Thessok Hunter will be more useful in the hands of players who understand team building. It is not necessarily a card that you simply place into every Fire lineup. Its Bloodline ability encourages you to think about the rest of your team and whether you can take advantage of the Saurian mechanics.

Overall in my opinion Thessok Hunter is a very interesting Common Fire monster. It is definitely not just another ordinary melee attacker. It has a unique identity because of its targeting ability its offensive abilities and its connection with the Saurian Bloodline.

For a 7 mana monster having 4 melee attack 5 speed and 8 health at max level is already a solid combination. When we add Apex Strike Piercing Ambush and Bloodline Pact to the card it becomes much more interesting.

I especially like the fact that the card can play an offensive role while also having an impact on the rest of the team through its Bloodline ability. Of course you need to be careful with its weaknesses and especially with the risks connected to Bloodline Pact.

So if you enjoy aggressive Fire teams and like experimenting with Bloodline-based strategies then Thessok Hunter is definitely a monster worth trying. It can be a powerful attacker when used with the right team and the right strategy.

So that's all for today's post guys. I hope you enjoyed this Thessok Hunter review and found some useful information about the card. If you are also using Thessok Hunter in your battles then I would love to know how it has performed for you.

I will come back with another interesting Splinterlands monster review in the next post.

Until then take care and keep playing Splinterlands!
