¡Hola comunidad!

Hello community! What a nice initiative @damarysvibra gives us this time. And it is because at some point we have all gone through reading, and several lessons have left in us every book we have had in our hands. Reading is one of the many ways we have to escape from reality, travel to other worlds, another time or another life. Nothing compares to reading. Many books have been adapted into movies, series or novels, but without a doubt the best experience is flipping through the book, smelling its pages, and imagining characters and scenarios.
When I was a child my family taught me to read. Even before I entered first grade. In preschool I had chicken pox and since the itching was uncomfortable and I couldn't scratch it so as not to leave marks on my skin or get infested, the way my mom found was to teach me to read. Those were my beginnings in reading. In my house they are all teachers and artists, so I grew up surrounded by huge and endless bookshelves with disorganized books, but a great variety of them. Classics, modern, scientific, poetry books, novels, short stories, comics and many more.
After my epic beginning many issues have already passed through me. I confess that I used to read a lot more. I had more time and school didn't demand so much from me. At that time I read "Little Women", "The Mystery of the Solitaire", "Gardel's Ghost Attacks the Abasto" and many more, but without a doubt those three marked my adolescence. After that the school was internal and demanded more time and study, I took books with me, but I could not advance, so I left the habit a little.
Some time ago I took it up again. I found in one of those walks through bookstores "The Phantom of the Opera" which is now my favorite in the world. After that I paused the rhythm again and it was a student who helped me to return. She lent me a book that she picked out for me that I discovered at the end was very similar to a true story from my life.
Coming closer to the subject in question; in February was the International Book and Reading Fair in Havana and I had the wonderful opportunity to attend as every year the biggest literary event in the country. The perfect place for book lovers, with new titles and reissues of others. There was a little bit of everything. Sometimes the pavilions of invited countries give away copies and when I passed by one of them I was given "The Ladder of the World" as a gift.
It is a story based on the creation at the beginning of the world that narrates how the different wonders that we can find today began to emerge. The first thing was the sea, but when he saw himself encompassing everything, he began to believe he was the best and superior to everything. When God noticed this, he erected the earth above the waters. At first everything was fine, but after a while the earth began to believe itself superior and perfect. Then God commanded the mountain to exist, creating a rough surface on the earth when it was smooth before. The mountain fell into the same evil and then God taught man iron so that he could drill it and extract its minerals. Iron too, then fire arose to teach him. Before the fire the water returned to appease it. The man who was in the middle of all that, noticed that all the previous ones responded to his desires, then he thought he was superior. God then created death who seemed invincible, until God noticed it too and answered him: "...Don't fly so high...you will be eliminated and after that, you will never exist again..." Then he also received his lesson.
It is a lesson in humility. No one is superior to anyone else. Rather equal, and from that equality each being is special and unique. In one way or another we contribute to beautify life and create unforgettable moments. We all have our role in society and that is what we came into the world for; to fulfill it to the best of our ability and to leave our beautiful mark on the lives of others. If at some point we have a higher role to play, we should always remember to do it with simplicity and humility. A good position at work or a good economic position does not make us better than others. We must take advantage of these virtues and positions to find ways to help others and share knowledge and whatever is necessary with those who need it, no matter who they are. Whoever rises with too much ego ends up going down because of the weight of bad feelings. That is my lesson with this book, which I already knew, but it is one of those that we should always remember.
I hope you enjoyed reading it and that you are encouraged to participate as well.
