One of my goals has been seeing a rocket launch in person. There are not too many places where you can see it but Florida is one of them. Recently I have made some posts where I visited the Kennedy Space Center and I saw that rocket pretty close that launched. Unfortunately, I was not able to see it from the Space Center, close by because I had to drive off the previous day. Still what matters is that I saw it at all. I was about 30 miles away from the space center, in Daytona Beach. I knew the exact time when the launch was happening and I decided to go to the beach and see what I can see.
Even though I was far, it was still an incredible experience. It was an unmanned SpaceX rocket that was launched on testing purposes. It flew into space and then tried to land back down on the platform on the ocean. Let it be mentioned that it failed, it landed in the sea instead.
The sound reached me about 3 minutes later when the rocket has already gone out of sight. It loud, even that far away. Like a rumbling or thunder that lasted for some time.
My goal still exists. Seeing the rocket launch up close. For that, I need to go back to Florida or California someday.
Have you ever seen a rocket launch in person?
