Some time ago I went on a trip to Soomaa national park. This is the largest bog/swamp. There are several trails that I managed to hike during the full day I spent there. Soomaa is also the least habited area in Estonia. Some also know this place where the fifth season happens, this means usually every spring water level rises and floods the nearby areas. Some years the floods are that big that vast areas of fields and forests get submerged under deep water of up to 5 meters.
The first trail I visited was the Riisa bog trail. It was also the most crowded due to being the closest one to the main entrance road to the national park.
Soon the trail went into the forest for a bit, there I got to see a good view of the Navesti River, the one that sometimes floods heavily.

The weather was the warmest I had felt during the Spring. The temperature got up to 19C on that day, it was super enjoyable.

There was a small watchtower that I of course climbed.
From there It was a walk back and from there we went on another trail. Stay tuned for the next ones!
