Earlier this summer me and my friend made a trip to central Estonia to see a certain abandoned place. When we reached the location we saw that there was a foundation of some house long gone. This was not what we came to see but since we saw it, we decided to have a look around and see what we could see.
At some point, there probably was a farmhouse in this place. Well, all we could see was a limestone foundation but all the other parts of the house were long gone. I think there hasn't been a house at least for 100 years. There were fields all around the house that seemed to have been cultivated at some point.
Nothing was inside there but a little bit outside from the building we found some old stuff. There seems to be an old bucket, a pot lid and a stove door. When someone would use a metal detector there then I think much stuff can be found under the surface.
About 20 meters away from the foundation stood, what looked like an old chimney made of bricks. All the walls were long gone but this one still stood, maybe it was a sauna or something?
When we walked past the small patch of trees on this plot of land we found something strange. Beehives that definitely are not abandoned or old hives in ruin. These are maintained but by whom? This place is totally in the middle of nowhere and there doesn't seem to be any houses nearby that someone lives in. We did not dare to peek inside the hive but we heard the bees. Someone must visit this random place and maintain it, there is not really another explanation.
We walked a bit forward, into the woods. what we found there were outhouses and a lot of them. In fact 7 of these in a row. This is another one we can't explain. Outhouses were in ruin and no one uses these today but the main question is why are there so many???
If there was a family living there once, then two would be explainable but 7 ? Maybe they had a huge family and everybody had to take a shit at the same time ?馃榾 Well, unlikely.
Maybe there were a lot of workers on the fields at some point but the fields aint that large to have so many toilets. I don't know, we tried to explain it but couldn't. Nothing seems to justify why there are so many toilets, maybe you have any idea?
This is what we found when we decided to look around in the abandoned farmhouse area. The real reason we went there was not the farmhouse but an abandoned nuclear bunker that was actually recently built but abandoned near this farm area. This will be the subject of the post I will be doing soon!
