I posted on Saturday that my dad had taken a hard fall. There were no obvious injuries. He wanted to go back to bed, so we helped him into bed. He slept all day. We had to wake him up to eat a little something and to take in some liquid. Sunday was the same thing again. He did not want to get out of bed. He did not want to eat. We had to coax him to take in anything. Monday morning was a repeat of the prior two days, so we got him to a doctor.
The doctor took ex-rays and did not find any broken ribs or injuries other than the torn skin and bruises from the fall. After the ordeal of going to the doctor, he was exhausted and wanted to go back to bed. He has been in bed all day and only taken tiny bits of food or liquid. He is fairly confused. This is from a man who gets up, grooms, and dresses himself every morning. He has been eating well and enjoying several snacks throughout the day. He is still very mentally sharp. He complains that he can't remember anything anymore, but he is really very capable of handing his own finances and daily needs.
The change we are seeing in him so suddenly after his fall has us very concerned. We are having a home-care nurse come out tomorrow and do an assessment on his condition.
I see some steemers have responded to some of my posts, and I will get back to you as quickly as I can, but steemit must take a back-burner status right now while I am caring for Daddy.
