I will be frank with the expectation I had and the result I got trying out olive oil for cooking. I love my tomatoes stew to appear reddish as it kind of makes it appealing to me.
Getting this olive oil, because my prefered canola oil was not available in the market according to hubby, I was eager to try something new but got less than expected.
The type we got.
Expiry date is next year.
The colour of the oil is dark, which I didn't really bother with until I finished my stew. The stew appeared dark as if burnt or something.
I had to look at the expiry dates to be sure hubby was not short-changed and there it was, still having more than a year to expire.
That led me to research a bit about olive oils, and was relieved when I noticed that it was normal to have such colouration.
I equally saw lots of health benefits of olive oils, which provided further relief. You can read some of them here. Unfortunately though, I won't be posting my stew because it doesn't look appetising 馃槒.
