U R A COWARD - MIDWEST USA
I posted a sign upon my minivan that stated "YOU CUT MY TIRES - U R A COWARD"
I left this sign up for a little over a week. Fortunately, this minivan was not my only vehicle available. I had another vehicle to drive. Thus, I waited until it was convenient to have the tires repaired. In the meantime, I left my sign up for at least a week.

THE WELCOME
I moved to a new home several years ago. As my family came and went and walked around the neighborhood, I found it was odd that some people were very friendly and other people were not friendly at all. The overall welcome was like in high school when there were the 'cool kids' and they were mean to the new kid.
So, overall, it was less than a warm welcome.
THE PROBLEM
My family had a dog at the time and the neighborhood had community cats. Thus, my dog barked a lot at the community cats. I had never heard the phrase 'community cats', but the neighborhood allowed and supported stray cats in the community. The cats roamed the neighborhood without any specific home and several homes left the garage doors open so the cats could get food and shelter.
The community cats roamed around and meowed all night and all the dogs in the neighborhood barked all night. However, there are rules for the dogs but not for the community cats.
So, somebody had a problem with my dog barking at the cats that were meowing in the yard.
Apparently, the whole neighborhood is cat people versus dog people. But, the dog people have to follow rules.
At the time, we had a cat and we had a dog. I guess we didn't fit in anywhere.
THE CONFRONTATIONS
NONE
THE ATTACKS
After being in the neighborhood for over six months, some destruction of property occurred.
- At night, somebody knocked over items in the back yard. Several times.
- At night, somebody destroyed the doghouse in the back yard. Twice.
- At night, somebody cut my tires to my minivan.
These attacks occurred over the course of a couple of weeks.
MY SIGN - U R A COWARD
I created a sign that stated very clearly "U R A COWARD" and gave the description "YOU CUT MY TIRES".
The sign could be seen clearly from the road. People walk a lot in the neighborhood and clearly saw it from the sidewalk. I'm sure the culprit saw my sign stating he is a coward.

THE COWARDLY ACT - LESS THAN 'MANLY'
While I posted that the culprit cut my tires, actually this is not the case. Initially, I assumed that the tires were stabbed with a knife. However, my coward was even less manly than that. Apparently, he tried to poke a hole with something and failed to poke through. The tires were actually deflated by using some sort of wire cutter to cut off the valve stem. Who cuts off a valve stem, what an idiot. Actually, only one valve stem was cut off and the other was cut enough for the air to come out. What a *****. (use your imagination).
MY OUTREACH
Actually, in describing the scenario to people walking by, I just described that the tires were cut and whoever did it was a coward.
Talking to a neighbor (of questionable character), I made sure to point out that the coward was less that manly, saying "who doesn't just stab a tire with a knife" and "what kind of man would cut off the valve stem" and "what a *****" (you can fill in the blank, I used every phrase possible. Use your imagination).

First photos after finding the flat tires. Shows valve stem cut off. I found the valve stem in the grass.
THE RESPONSE
I got an alarm system with cameras for front and back yard.
I got a fence around the back yard.
The tires were replaced. The damage to the sidewall was enough to need to be replaced.
Nobody ever fessed up to cutting my tires, but I'm sure the culprit is no longer in the community.
I'm here to stay.
THE HIVE COMMUNITY
I love this HIVE community. I've been here for several years. It's a great place. I've reached out. I've shared a lot.
I'm here to stay.
