A True Definition of Unity

It was a big loss when it comes to the source of income from my people in our municipality. Dalaguete is a province of Cebu which is popular with its so-called "Vegetable Basket of Cebu". I's about two weeks ago when the news went viral and was even featured from a popular Documentary show in the Philippines "KMJS". Loads of delivery trucks throwing the vegetables most specifically to cabbage.

You can compare how much you can buy cabbage from your favorite stores or supermarket but you can't believe in reality during the great loss, you will almost have it for a peso because it's not sold and rotten. Through the help of the social media, it was notified by the government of Cebu and other people who got an interest to save those wasted ones. One of the governors from Cebu South, took the responsibility to order those loads of cabbages.

The Mayor itself had given those vegetables from the residents who closely needing it. There were some good people who helped to keep ordering direct from the market as to make it "Kimchi" and other food resources. The unity and cooperation were present and I highly appreciate how one another help during this low point of ours. I really thought it was the beginning of our downfall especially to our beloved farmers who were about to quit planting because as they said, it takes time to grow and need finance how to plant then harvest these vegetables let me include the labor and transportation as well of the vegetables to its designated areas all around Central Visayas and its neighboring islands.

We may encounter this kind of obstacle but beyond grateful for every day's blessings we have. During this pandemic, we can see who are those good samaritans and unexpected good people who have a helping hand to lend their help to one another. Let's always remember, we should not give up of whatever trials we face on, be a hard-working person because all those sacrifices will be paid off for sure at the perfect time.
