¡Hola, amigos!

Hace poco fue el cumpleaños de mi hermana mayor y, para celebrarlo, la invitamos a un restaurante coreano muy popular en la ciudad que ella llevaba tiempo queriendo visitar: Vivigo. Mi marido y yo ya habíamos ido, pero quisimos aprovechar para probar cosas diferentes a las que comimos la primera vez.

It was my older sister's birthday recently, and to celebrate, we took her to a very popular Korean restaurant in town that she'd been wanting to visit for a while: Vivigo. My husband and I had already been there, but we wanted to take the opportunity to try some different dishes from the ones we had the first time.

El local no es muy amplio, pero es acogedor y la decoración es sencilla y bonita. El día que fuimos se había ido la luz y, como estaban trabajando con una planta de luz, no podían tener el aire acondicionado encendido, así que hacía bastante calor, pero, claro está, no es culpa de ellos.

The place isn't very spacious, but it's cozy, and the decor is simple and nice. The day we went, there was a power outage, and since they were running on a generator, they couldn't turn on the air conditioning, so it was pretty hot—but, of course, that's not their fault.

Ahora sí, a lo que vinimos. Para empezar, uno de los dueños nos conoce y nos invitó a unos mandu con relleno de pollo de entrada, y ¡wow! Estaban deliciosos. Es una entrada ligera que os recomiendo no saltarse.

Now, let's get down to business. To start with, one of the owners knows us and treated us to some chicken-stuffed mandu as an appetizer, and wow! They were delicious. It's a light appetizer that I highly recommend you don't skip.

Por otro lado, mi esposo y yo decidimos pedir un combo para compartir que incluye arroz frito, ramyeon, mandu y una pequeña ración de kimchi. Es un buen combo si solo quieres probar un poco de todo sin gastar mucho y me encantó todo. La comida no es nada grasienta en comparación con la china y los sabores no son tan intensos. Mi esposo piensa que al arroz le faltaba un poco más de sal, pero en general es una combinación que volveríamos a pedir. Por cierto, el kimchi resulta un poco extraño al principio, pero combinado con el ramyeon estaba perfecto.

On the other hand, my husband and I decided to order a combo to share that included fried rice, ramen, mandu, and a small serving of kimchi. It’s a great combo if you just want to try a little bit of everything without spending too much, and I loved everything. The food isn’t greasy at all compared to Chinese food, and the flavors aren’t as intense. My husband thought the rice could have used a little more salt, but overall, it’s a combination we’d order again. By the way, the kimchi tastes a little strange at first, but paired with the ramen, it was perfect.

Y con eso podría haber sido suficiente, pero entonces vimos en el menú una pizza con salsa coreana, camarones, queso y pollo, y no pudimos resistirnos. Es un poco más costosa, porque cuesta $15, pero madre mía, qué combinación más sabrosa. Creo que es una de las mejores pizzas que hemos comido, porque, además, la masa es de patata, muy ligera y con un toque de dulzor. ¡Nos encantó!

And that might have been enough, but then we saw a pizza on the menu with Korean sauce, shrimp, cheese, and chicken, and we just couldn't resist. It's a little more expensive—it costs $15—but my goodness, what a delicious combination. I think it's one of the best pizzas we've ever had, especially since the crust is made with potatoes—it's very light and has a hint of sweetness. We loved it!

Mi hermana, en cambio, se pidió un combo que incluye una hamburguesa de pollo crujiente con una salsa especial de manzana, acompañada de paas fritas y dos piezas de pollo. A ella le encantó. En mi caso, puedo decir que la salsa es un poco empalagosa, pero está rica. Y por 10 $ creo que estuvo muy bien.

My sister, on the other hand, ordered a combo that included a crispy chicken burger with a special apple sauce, served with fries and two pieces of chicken. She loved it. As for me, I’d say the sauce is a little too sweet, but it’s tasty. And for $10, I think it was a great deal.

En conclusión, si viven en Maturín o vienen de visita, tienen que ir a probar la comida de Vivigo; estoy casi segura de que les va a gustar tanto como a mí. Mi hermana quedó encantada con su regalo y todos disfrutamos de un almuerzo diferente y delicioso.

In conclusion, if you live in Maturín or are visiting, you have to go try the food at Vivigo; I'm almost certain you'll like it as much as I do. My sister was delighted with her gift, and we all enjoyed a unique and delicious lunch.
