Aaaand yesterday was the day! As expected BTC swung victoriously back into town like the handsome Sherriff and twatted aside all those pesky alt coins that were threatening its dominance. Luckily I acted quickly and got out of my available alt positions by about two minutes. A lot of new entrants into the theatre are going to be shocked by watching their gains evaporate, but we all go through it. It really is hard at times like this because you either keep all your alts on the exchange and risk hacking but have them easily tradeable, or you keep them safe and have to transfer them to the exchange to sell once BTC jumps, although by then it’s too late! The alts will of course take a dip, but it will be interesting to see how quickly they bounce back. My quick transfer to BTC really paid off, as did a gamble on KIN which rose 143% overnight, because despite only having 18% BTC in my portfolio I still managed to make money, which is the first time that’s happened. Really does say to always have some BTC, despite the temptation to sell it.
Took a big step forwards towards my masternode aims by adding an INN masternode to my collection. That makes an INN, VET and SMART masternodes with a further one to come hopefully. I don’t mind sacrificing BTC for masternodes as they will pay off many times over. If I pick the right ones then the income from these could equal a healthy salary, which would be incredible turn of events. Add in the mining and I could be in for a lot of residual income. On that subject I took delivery of my nVidia 1080 TI yesterday – the thing is absolutely monstrous. It needed a bigger power over twice that of my PC so I ordered a new one to arrive today. Really want to get it up and mining by the weekend. The actual set up of the masternodes is going to be a little tricky and will take some doing, but I do love a project.
Fortunately my boss was off yesterday (she never tells us when she will be away) which meant I could spend the entire day researching masternodes and picking the good ones, as well as dealing with BTC. Complete and utter bonus.
So going into the weekend we’ll see what BTC does. I expect it to stay still for a moment before jumping again, so I’m not going to make any changes to my portfolio Interestingly, VISA have banned the use of three of the popular pre-paid Bitcoin cards which is not the route TokenPay are going down. I was worried for a minute it would sink TokenPay too, but they are doing it a different way. I have £15k invested in their project, so I hope to God they do it right!
Today's lesson - ALWAYS keep some BTC in your portfolio
