Not much movement yesterday, with most coins settling down after their recent huge movements down and up. TEL had a nice rebound after dumping to $0.005 so I sold a big stack at 3x ROI to prepare for a potential BTC run. GAT is on COSS but still sitting at about $0.12 with very few buy orders. I’m not doing anything until it gets to another exchange.
I spent most of the day arranging my ICOs (including contributing to the Elastos ICO having completely missed an email saying it was open!). I was initially going to enter the PundiX ICO until someone on my Discord group discovered that unless you hold the coin for THREE YEARS you won’t get all your coins when the sale ends! Three years is like several lifetimes in crypto, and I don’t think many people have found out about this aspect of it. They will, and then there will be uproar, but it’ll be too late by then. My Discord group (called Blockchain Bulls, which I’ll refer to from here as BB) are organising an ICO pool for MedicalChain in order to achieve the minimum contribution and get a bigger discount. This is a great idea and one of the benefits of joining a group. So now I have my calendar filled with ICOs and reminders set.
I also spent some time working on my spreadsheet to identify profit-taking targets and what I am hoping to achieve with each coin. This was badly needed as I now have a focus for each coin and a strict selling point so I have no choice but to take profits! This goes for most of my moon bags too, expect for those like HST which are small investments that could have catalysts so far down the line it’s impossible to give them a target.
KuCoin also revealed that they will be listing one of my recently contributed to ICOs, CarVertical (CV), next week. As I only invested a small amount I won’t be rushing to sell on listing – I’d prefer to keep that for a longer play to achieve bigger gains. This is in direct contrast to TEL which gave me a very nice surprise by jumping 40% overnight. In line with my new policy I had set two sell points yesterday in order to make the most of any pump, with one hitting and netting me about £13k. It has since dropped a bit so I’ll wait until it hits the second at $0.01, then I still have quite a healthy moonbag to hold onto for 2018 while I see where it goes. This has had the knock on effect of increasing my BTC holding, although I might sacrifice some of this for NEO which should have a very good few months with all their ICOs coming out. Also DRGN has some ICOs launching soon which are selling out fast, so that should boost the price of that nicely too.
BTC has hit over $12.k this morning which by general consensus should mean that we are officially out of the dump, although with the recent alt run, even after the dip, there will likely not be a huge alt run, seeing as quite a lot of money has come back in already. Being a weekend too there will probably be some consolidation before we see what happens next week. Hopefully this dip has shaken out the weak hands and given those newbies who are still in a bit of an understanding about what happens when the market dumps – it comes right back up!
Today’s lesson: Set sell limits to make the most of an unexpected pump.
