My response to "(WE90) Weekend-Engagement POSTING TOPICS"

It is for everyone and you also can join the challenge here. Thank you, galenkp@galenkp sir.

Today's Topic:

What quirky, unusual, odd or strange habit have you noticed or observed in someone else that you enjoy and respond to - or detest as it gets on your nerves - explain why in either case (or do both). Loud eating is one I hate. Sends me bonkers! 馃槙

I am a very simple human being and I like seeing people give out their best as galenkp@galenkp always strive to make us to weekly. It has been my life ever since the reality of losing my dad dawned on me. It was an experience that shaped my whole life which makes me know that no one owes me anything.

What I detest in others is the spirit of entitlement they carry about because they think the universe owes them so much or someone owes them something because of their close proximity to the person. It took a personal experience for me to know that I must have offended quite a lot of people too while growing up, especially with that mindset.

When we lost our dad I felt the universe would pause and take notice because he was a great man. I felt those he had helped and given to would troop into our abode to tell us how they would help us going forward. Some of them did but they didn't even show up ever again as I typed this. I felt bad for a long time before reality set in that I am not owed a thing. Whatever you want in life you have to work for it. People are like channels and you can be used to help them along the way. Since it's not a business transaction we shouldn't expect anything in return.

I detest those with that spirit of entitlement and this was the reason why I set some ladies straight during Valentine. Most ladies expect that during Valentine the guy has to be the one to get them gifts. What effrontery! It's a relationship and it means the two of you should be thoughtful enough to get something for each other out of care and not necessarily for the occasion. I saw so many WhatsApp status the ladies put up about "someone's son should find me" and "No one gave me a gift." I replied to quite a lot of them asking them if they also gave gifts to others. They felt the whole universe should bow to them forgetting that it's a two-way street.

When people see value in us, they would naturally stop and appreciate it and if they haven't, yet, it only means we haven't gotten to that stage yet, so we need to keep at it. A tasty food won't speak of itself, a good coffee won't speak for itself and when people understand your worth they would be drawn to you based on that. Life won't always give you what you think you deserved but what you demand of it. I detest those who fold their arms and want everything to fall on their laps and yet they still make it sound like you are the one not doing enough for them when they are not even doing enough for themselves.

I detest entitled humans. It doesn't sit well with me and that is because I have been there before and I don't want others to go through that path again. It hinders growth, kills productivity and dulls mentality. It has often led so many people into depression because they have a weird mentality of what they are expecting and the sad thing is that it won't come because no one owes us anything.

Cheers.
