Bonfires make me long to go back to my favorite island,
where the only lights are the bright moon and the thousand jewels that twinkle in the midnight blue sky...
where the sounds are the countless waves that tirelessly dash off the shores...
where the breeze endlessly gives a little shiver...
where the unfading laughters resonate in the air.
Bonfires bring back beautiful memories...
memories that I can only dream of today...
I know that the lockdown was imposed for the safety of everyone, to flatten the curb of the virus' spread, and that staying home is the only way I can be of help to the government and medical frontliners. But that fact does not hinder me to long for the old times, and to wish that everything would be back to normal (or even just a bit of normalcy, if "normal" life is impossible to attain).
It is hard to stay within bounds, when you are limited on what you can do, and when staying home 24/7 is the new normal. I need to be innovative, and remain positive--cherishing the moment that I am with my family, eating together, dancing together, watching together, cooking together, cleaning together, and basically doing almost everything together.
This pandemic has drawn us much closer together. It's more of like cuddling together near a bonfire amidst a cold dark night, until the coldness of the night would pass.
Soon, hopefully very soon, bonfire memories would be BONFIRE MOMENTS.
