I am NOT in any way promoting a product, but I am mainly posting this to help my hive friends know the benefits of air fryer (and it's definitely not bad tasting either!)

My father is a diabetic, with a heart-by-pass surgery, and he had mild stroke four times. And so we are really on tenterhooks with regards to his health. This is the main reason why we are looking for alternatives in making him eat healthy food, while he doesn't feel deprived.

His attending physician had emphasized greatly on his diet, because as she said, my father's medicines are complete--from lowering his blood sugar, to lowering his cholesterol--but he still had stroke, so there is really something wrong with his diet! That's why as a family, we imposed a strict diet on him. His doctor greatly discouraged eating fried foods. But my father really loves his fried fish, that he is sulking to himself about this newly-imposed diet. 😢

This is where the air fryer came into play. Air fryer uses hot-air circulation so it cooks the food with no oil needed! How about that? We were so happy to have encountered this product, that is designed to produce healthier foods because of lower fat.

We are skeptical if it can cook fish, so we have done some online reviews and saw that it is very, very easy to do.

Hence, below is the preparation I made in order to cook fish using an air fryer for the first time!

Ingredients:

  • creamdory fish fillet
  • 2cups flour
  • 1cup corn starch
  • bread crumbs
  • egg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp calamansi juice extract

Instructions:

  • Marinate the fish for 15 minutes in calamansi extract, salt and pepper.

  • Roll the fish in the mixed flour and corn starch, dip it in the beaten egg, and roll it in bread crumbs for the final coating.

  • Put the coated fish into the air fryer.
  • Cook for 15 minutes.

Tsaadaaaan! Here it is!!!! 😂 It's not bad for a first timer, right? 😉

I know that in this imperfect world we live in, it is impossible for anyone to attain perfect health. When we get sick, it may not be the result of negligence on our part, but of our inherent human frailty. Therefore, we should not let health concerns cause us undue stress and anxiety. In fact, the greatest man who ever lived on earth even asked: “Who of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his life span?” (Luke 12:25) Yes, we can never extend a minute of our loves despite being anxious about it. Instead, it is best to simply try to avoid things that needlessly shorten life and impair its quality. Doing so can help us to enjoy the best health possible until that day in God’s new world when “no resident will say: ‘I am sick.’”—Isaiah 33:24.

Stay safe!

Thank you for reading! 😉
