For me, there are two types of nighttime city photo walks: material and spiritual. I’ll explain. Material is equally dynamic, in the public eye, among people. Accordingly, the subjects are similar both in terms of the elements in the frame and in terms of the feeling they evoke.

Spiritual walks mean something metaphysical, detached, far away from people... even if it’s in the city center.

Both street art and urban landscapes can be described as material or reportage‑style.

Is the urban landscape more spiritual or metaphysical, or is the plot closer to the abstract?

The nighttime courtyard spaces were always on a spiritual wavelength.

I consider everything else to be reportage material.

It’s easy to explain. If I’m trying to figure out the composition, looking for unusual angles, and want to get involved in the evening gatherings of young people — that’s intellect, that’s the material world.

Well, the spiritual, which is logical, is built on feelings and comes on its own, without any brainwork.

The composition is built almost automatically, and the plots are found in places where people don’t go.

Sometimes you want to take pictures in the center at night, but in silence and with feelings ...

For this reason, you have to go out later, when everyone is already asleep.
