I discovered this tri-colored drink by chance. But it's probably my most colorful discovery! Hahaha!
This drink is made up of blue water (from the extract of ternatea flower) and my very own calamansi (Philippine lime) syrup.
If you have been following my blogs, you know what I'm talking about, but for those who don't I'll gonna show you a little of it.
Ternatea flowers produces deep blue hue when it is steeped in a hot water, preferrable boiling water. Ternatea is dubbed to be an excellent source of vitamin C, hence, since we have a plenty, we regularly make blue water for our daily consumption.
One time, when I wanted to drink something refreshing, I grabbed the refrigerated blue water, but I feel like adding a tinge of something that could add to its taste. I thought of the calamansi syrup that I have made, so I poured some to the glass of blue water. To my surprise, this is how it looked like!!! Whoah! I was beyond amazed of its transformation! Yes, it's all about the chemical reaction. But it is just wonderful to witnessed it with your very eyes!!!
Amazing, isn't it?
Well, I am kinda addicted now so I am making this refreshing drink almost everyday to quench my thirst from the overwhelmingly hot summer season. It is refreshing, natural and packed with vitamin C!!! Very well-suited for this time of pandemic too.
I am very happy with this accidental discovery.
What are the interesting discoveries you had?
