Perhaps Billy in the above picture overdid it a little bit. He might end up in hospital with high cholesterol but sometimes if we indulge in certain things it might not be such a bad thing. You don't have to eat the whole cake, but one slice won't kill you instantly.
We are ALL after all dying, we just don't know when.
My whole life I have been exposed to diets. My grandmother on my father's side, tried every gadget, powder, shake and diet on earth, and she died at the age of 95 still overweight.
She loved sweet things and I used to buy her sweets and at night when everybody else was asleep I gave it to her and then she was the happiest person on earth.
My grandmother on my mother side, was as thin as a rake, and she died at the age
of eighty after being thin/underweight for her whole life. She used to buy clothes in the petite section/kids department so imagine that!
Her husband, died at the mere age of seventy. He was on a diet since the day he was born. He ate healthy food, and never ate anything out of his prescribed diet and I'm sure if he ate one more lettuce leave he would have bleated like a goat.
He still died.
I recently started following a program on television where a doctor compares different types of diets. He chooses groups of people and then decide which diet they have to follow. After three months he does a comparison to show who lost the most weight on a specific diet.
One of the ladies was chosen NOT to follow any specific diet. All she had to do was to think clearly what she put in her mouth. In other words, she could eat WHATEVER she wanted, as MUCH as she wanted but before she put anything into her mouth, she had to think carefully of the repercussions of what she was about to eat.
After three months the results were clear. The person who lost the most weight of all was this lady. She lost more weight than any other person on a restricted diet.
I have never been a fitness fanatic, and I'm probably NOT going to change into one anytime soon, but I do try to watch what I eat, BUT I do have a slice of cake or a sweet ever so often.
I am not promoting unhealthy eating, I'm also not promoting indulging into everything you see around you, BUT we are all going to die, and we don't have to carry our own casket.
We all have our issues in life, so don't let your issues, overpower your
life.
