A Weekend Trail, Tired Legs, and 35K Steps 馃尶
There's something about a weekend trek that makes you forget to check the time. You start by thinking about the trail ahead, and before you realize it, hours have passed and your legs have covered more distance than you expected.
This weekend, I spent a good part of the day trekking and walking. The trail brought a welcome change from the familiar surroundings of everyday life. There were stretches where I could settle into a comfortable pace and a few tougher sections that made me slow down and catch my breath. I also managed some light jogging and exercises along with the usual daily activities.
Even after the main trek, the movement continued with walks after lunch and dinner. By evening, my legs were definitely feeling the distance, but there was a certain satisfaction in looking back at a day spent mostly outdoors.
When I finally checked my tracker, it showed 35K steps! I hadn't spent the day chasing that number. I was simply enjoying the trek and letting the steps accumulate along the way.
What I appreciate about weekends like this is the mental break as much as the physical activity. Being away from the usual routine, noticing the surroundings, and sharing time with the outdoors can make a difference after a busy week. Sometimes, a change of scenery is exactly what we need.
What's your ideal weekend escape: a challenging trekking trail, a peaceful nature walk, or a relaxed day exploring somewhere new?
