I almost turned back five minutes into my walk today.
The morning felt slower than usual, and for a moment I thought about calling it a short session and heading home. Instead, I kept walking and told myself I’d decide again at the next corner. By then, my legs had loosened up, so I added a light jog, spent a few minutes on some simple exercises, and suddenly the slow start didn’t matter anymore.
The rest of the day was nothing special—just work, daily responsibilities, and the little walks I’ve started fitting in after lunch and dinner. Those short breaks have become my favorite part of the routine. They help clear my mind as much as they help my step count.
By the time I checked my tracker before bed, I had reached 10k steps. Not my highest total, but enough to end the day knowing I kept the habit alive.
Today's reminder was simple: you don't have to feel ready before you begin. Sometimes the hardest part lasts only a few minutes, and once you move through it, the rest of the session takes care of itself.
Have you ever had a workout or walk that almost didn’t happen, but ended up being exactly what you needed? I'd love to hear your story.
